What is DEKA?

DEKA is part of the Spartan global fitness racing brand, and is the ultimate test of strength, endurance, and grit. Featuring standardised fitness tests designed to push your limits and celebrate your progress. DEKA have their own brilliant training programme that as an affiliate we have exclusive access to and run multiple times every week.

DEKA BURN, FORGE and GRIT are classes that have key focus areas whether it be cardio, strength or endurance, with a bit of an emphasis on getting you excited and confident to take on a DEKA Strong or Mile – should you wish!

Our DEKA training classes are designed to improve your speed, strength, and technique in the specific movements that show up within the DEKA events while building the endurance needed to thrive. You’ll leave each session fitter, faster, and competition-ready.

class focus areas

  • ENDURANCE: Significant cardiovascular fitness is required for these events — so classes work on building stamina.

  • STRENGTH AND POWER: Exercises like sandbag lunges, wall balls, RAM burpees and farmer’s carry help build strength, especially in the legs, core, and upper body.

  • TECHNIQUE AND EFFICIENCY: In a class, you’ll often get coached on form to help maximise performance, efficiency and avoid injury.

STRUCTURE OF A CLASS:

  • SCALABLE DIFFICULTY: Our classes are structured to be scalable for all fitness levels. Everyone can adjust weights, modify movements, or reduce run distances based on ability.

  • COMPETITIVE vs. CASUAL PARTICIPATION: Some join for competition training, while others simply want a structured, high-intensity workout.
